I equip and empower God’s people for the ministry he has prepared for them.
As a pastor, that’s what I do. I felt the call into church leadership since I was a sophomore in high school. But there’s this really dangerous idea within the American church that pastors are the people who are called to ministry – that we are the ones doing the work of the church. Yet, that’s not what the Bible says.
We’re all called to ministry. We’re all called to proclaim and demonstrate the unmatched love of God to the world around us. Those of us in church leadership are called to equip and empower the rest of the church to live our their faith at home, work, school, and in every other facet of life.
I want to empower you.
And that’s what this entire blog is all about. We often overcomplicate what it means to be on mission and connect our faith to everyday life. This is simply another avenue by which I can encourage, equip, and empower you. You’ll discover a mix of theology, devotions, thoughts, and just practical advice.
My Crazy Family
To know me is to know my family. After meeting in college (and me practically begging her to go out with me), Holly and I have been married for 11 years now. We live in the suburbs of Dallas with our two boys, Caleb (8) and Noah (3). They are both insane, hilarious, and unpredictable guys who keep us on our toes.
Holly and I have both called the Dallas area home for our entire lives. We are proud to be a part of Christ Fellowship Church where I serve as the Communications Pastor.
